Ann Patchett has just watched her then boyfriend/now husband Karl ride off on the back of a motorcycle as he hangs on for his life to the narrow, naked waist of Rhonda.
Ann Patchett is like a beautiful wine that gets better as it breathes. Also, I heard Sam Elliott’s voice as i read this. Mister and i gonna need some Tombstone time tonight. Bon Anni!!!
In lieu of looking for an answer elsewhere, could I ask a writing question, Mr. Blase? Your “O.K.” up there reminded me I have noticed a return of the periods for acronyms that had previously rejected them…including I.C.E. and other oft-noted organizations. Is this a shift in policy for writers in this current era? Or did some sleeping part of my brain just perk up, prompted by the plethora of acronyms dominating my reading material?
Hi, Jessica. That's a fair question, but I confess I don't know if there's been a policy shift or not. Truth is that O.K. was an intentionally subtle nod to the OK Corral where Wyatt and co. made their memorable stand in Tombstone. No one should've gotten that as it's simply one of those weirdo things writers do to make themselves feel special:) Thanks for reading!
I read everything I can find of Ann Patchett. Every novel, the two essay collections—all exquisite.
My son aptly said his dad, my David, died while he was living. A beautiful way to go❤️
Beautiful indeed, Karen.
Perfection. Thank you.
And thank you back, Diana.
Man I love your writing.
Gosh, Josh, that means a lot. Many thanks.
Gosh I needed this! (Do I sound like you? Hope so 😉)
Just a smidge:)

Been listening to her essays on audiobook every evening. I’ve read many in print. She is somethin’.
God, these get me every time.

I love an Easter egg, left solely for the writer’s satisfaction. Thank you!
